Location - Literally underneath Viejas Arena. On the campus of San Diego State University.

Aztec bowl was the onetime home of San Diego State football. The bowl was opened in 1939 and a WPA project. After the Aztecs moved to Jack Murphy stadium in 1967, the bowl hosted mostly concerts, soccer and other small events. The bowl was torn down in 1994 and Viejas arena opened in 1997.

The remains of Aztec bowl are of the old north end of the stadium.

The Aztec football team also played select games at the old Balboa Stadium, onetime home of the San Diego Chargers.
