Music - The Final Countdown by Europe

Photographed in January 1993 using film and in August of 2014 using digital.

I was at Civic Stadium in August of 2014. I called the school district to gain access to the shuttered ballpark. They told me they could not send someone over to let me in due to school starting the following week.

Unfortunately, on June 29, 2015, 3 boys started a fire in the press box and the wooden stadium burned to the ground. As of 2017, its a vacant lot.

Civic Stadium - Opened in 1938 and closed in 2009. Used mainly by Eugene High School teams. Two different versions of the Eugene Ems used the stadium. The original Ems of the PCL from 1969 thru 1973. And the NWL Ems from 1974 thru 2009. The Ems moved to P.K. Park and share the facility with the U of Oregon baseball team. Civic Stadium is on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. It is also on the Historic Preservation League of Oregon's most endangered list. There is a grass roots effort to save Civic Stadium. They are at www.savecivicstadium.org

Location - 2077 Willamette St. Eugene, Oregon Just about two miles southwest of the University of Oregon.
