Music - Time is tight by Booker T. and the MG's

Photographed in 1987 using film.

The last 40 photos on this slideshow are courtesy of my buddy Billy Morris. He is a photographer in Memphis.

Mid-South Coliseum - Opened in 1963, and closed in 2006. The building is still standing but was closed due to the expense of bringing it up to code for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Home to 3 ABA teams, the Memphis Pros 1971-1972, the Memphis Tams 1972 -1974 and the Memphis Sounds 1974-1975. The arena was home to many minor league hockey teams, the last being the Memphis RiverKings which moved to Southaven Mississippi in 2000.

The coliseum was also home to University of Memphis basketball before the Pyramid opened in 2000.

In 2016, the Memphis city council approved a lease for Wiseacre brewery to turn the old arena into a brewery, restaurant and other ideas. If it happens, it will start somewhere in 2017.

Location - 996 Early Maxwell Blvd. Memphis, Tennessee Just southwest of the Liberty Bowl.
