Nickerson Field - Opened in 1915 and still in use. The stadium was built on the site of the former Allston golf club. Known as Braves Field 1915-1936, 1941-1953. National League Park 1936-2942 and Boston University Field 1953-1955. Originally built for the Boston Braves of the National League. The Braves moved to Milwaukee for the 1954 season. Boston University took over and in 1955 most of the grandstand was demolished. The original first base stands still exist as well as the Braves team office building. The office building is now home to the BU police dept. BU dropped football after the 1997 season. Nickerson Field was also home to the Boston Patriots 1960-1962, and the Boston Breakers of the USFL in 1983.
