Pan Pacific Auditorium - Opened in 1935, closed in 1972. A great version of mid 30's art deco architecture. The arena sat in decay until it was destroyed by a massive fire on May 24, 1989. A park now sits on the site, with a replica of one of the spire towers. The Pan Pacific was used by both UCLA and USC for basketball in the 40's. The arena was also home to the Los Angeles Monarchs of the old Pacific Coast Hockey League. The arena was located just to the east of CBS television city and to the northeast of where old Gilmore Field and Gilmore Stadium once stood. The LA farmers market is now on the site of Gilmore field.
Location - 7600 W. Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, California

The white building in the middle of the photos with all the windows...that is an approximate location where old Gilmour field once stood. Home to the Hollywood Stars of the PCL.... Gilmour Stadium was just to the west of Gilmour Field. CBS television city sits just to the north of where the parks were located.
