Angel Stadium / Palm Springs Stadium - Opened in 1949 and still in use. Known as Palm Springs Polo Grounds 1949 -1960, Angel Stadium 1960 -1996, Palm Springs Stadium 1996 - present.
Location - 1901 E. Baristo Road Palm Springs, California.
Former spring training home for the Los Angeles / California Angels.
Originally known as the Polo Grounds when it opened in 1949, Palm Springs stadium was more commonly known as the spring training home for the Los Angeles / California Angels. From 1961 thru 1992, the Halos played their spring training games here. In 1992, to cut down on travel to and from Arizona, the Angels relocated their spring training to Tempe Arizona. The Palm Springs Angels of the Cal league played here from 1986 thru 1993, when they relocated to Lake Elsinore California and the brand new Lake Elsinore diamond stadium. In 2007, the city of Palm Springs repainted the aging structure. Today it is home to the Palm Springs Power of the southern California collegiate baseball association. Many teams have played here, but to me, it will always be the original spring training home of the Angels.
