Ballparks, Arenas and Stadiums > U.S. Airways Center - Phoenix, Arizona
MUSIC - Sometimes it's a bitch by Stevie Nicks (a Phoenix native)

U.S. Airways Center - Opened in 1992 and still in use. Known as America West Arena 1992 - 2005, U.S. Airways Arena 2005 - 2015, Talking Stick Resort Arena 2015 - present.

Second home for the Phoenix Suns of the NBA. They are the main tenant of the arena. The Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA have played here from 1997 thru the present. The Arena also hosts the Arizona Rattlers of the AFL/IFL from 1992 thru the present. The now defunct Arizona Sandsharks of the CISL 1993 - 1997 and the also defunct Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL 2005 - 2009.

The Winnipeg Jets of the NHL relocated here in 1996 and played at the arena till 2003. They moved to their own arena in nearby Glendale for the 2004 season.

I saw the first event here on June 6, 1992. A George Strait concert opened the venue.

Location - 201 E. Jefferson St. Phoenix, Arizona. About 2 blocks west of Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.
