Stillwater is about 50 miles northeast of Oklahoma City and about 90 miles from its arch rival, the University of Oklahoma in Norman. The rivalry is intense. Especially on those crisp fall afternoons. The Oklahoma State Cowboys have played at Boone Pickens Stadium since 1920. Back then, the University was known as Oklahoma A & M. and first began playing at the current site of Pickens Stadium in 1913. Back then, it was known as "Athletic Field." In 1920 Lewis Field was built on the same site and it sat 8,000. Over the years, seating increased and in 2003 a $260 million dollar upgrade was started on the stadium. At halftime of a game in 2003 between OSU and Wyoming, the stadium was renamed Boone Pickens. Capacity now is a respectable 60,218.

On December 9, 1938 Oklahoma A & M beat Kansas 21-15 in the first ever game at the 4-H clubs and student activities center. In 1939 the building was renamed Gallagher Hall and in 2000 after a major renovation, the arena was renamed Gallagher-Iba Arena. Seating was increased from 6,381 to its current size of 13,611. The building was once called "the Madison Square Garden of the Plains."

Allie P. Reynolds stadium is the on field baseball facility for OSU. It is just across the street from Pickens stadium and Iba arena. The stadium was built in 1981 and was named after former Yankee pitcher and Oklahoma A & M grad, Allie Reynolds. Plans are being made for a new stadium to replace the current one.
