Location - 250 Evans Ave. Reno, Nevada
The ballpark is the AAA home for the Arizona Diamondbacks. It is located about 2 blocks east of Virginia Street (where the casions are) in downtown Reno. The ballpark is located right next to the Truckee river. The right field wall borders the river. Construction began in February of 2008 and 14 months later, the first game was played. Originally called Sierra Nevada stadium, it was renamed Aces ballpark once the team got their name. The former Tucson Toros AAA franchise moved to Reno for the 2009 season. The "new" Reno Aces played their first game on April 17, 2009 and they defeated the Salt Lake Bees 11-1. Josh Whitesell hit the parks first home run in the bottom of the first inning of the second game. He also went on to hit the first grand slam at the park later in that same game.
The casinos Nevada is famous for are literally a block away. Aces ballpark is a very comfortable place to watch a game. BUT, dress warm in April. You might get snow.
