Tingley Coliseum - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Ballparks, Arenas and Stadiums > Tingley Coliseum - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Music - That'll be the day by Buddy Holly and the Crickets

Photographed in 1994 using film.

Tingley Coliseum opened in 1957 and took almost 17 years to complete.

The coliseum was home to the New Mexico Scorpions of the WPHL. They played here from 1996 till 2005 when they moved into the brand new Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The move proved fruitless as the team disbanded after the 2009 season.

From 2005 thru 2010, the coliseum housed the Albuquerque Thunderbirds of the NBA development league. They also moved to the Santa Ana Star Center before relocating after the 2011 season to Canton, Ohio.

The latest tenant to the coliseum is an indoor football team called the Duke City Gladiators.

The coliseum is located on the New Mexico State Fair grounds, much like the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.

The address is 300 San Pedro Dr NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
