Quicken Loans Arena - Cleveland, Ohio
Ballparks, Arenas and Stadiums > Quicken Loans Arena - Cleveland, Ohio
Music - He can't love you by the Michael Stanley band

Photographed in 1994, 1995, 2003 and 2005 using film.

Quicken Loans Arena opened for business in 1994, replacing the out of the way Richfield Coliseum (since demolished). When the arena opened, it was known as Gund Arena. That stayed that way until 2005 when they changed to Quicken Loans.

The home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL, and the Cleveland Gladiators of the AFL. It was also home for the Cleveland Rockers of the WNBA from 1997 till 2003, the Cleveland Barons of the AHL from 2001 to 2006 and the Cleveland Lumberjacks of the IHL from 1994 to 2001.

The arena is a busy place. In 2016, the Cavs brought the first pro sports championship to Cleveland since 1964, a 52 year wait.

When I first went to Cleveland in 1976, it was a dreary city. Now, with the semi new arena, ballpark and football stadium plus the rock and roll hall of fame, Cleveland is clearly on the rebound, no pun intended....

Location - 1 Center Court, Cleveland, Ohio The arena is right in back of left field from Progressive Field.
