Photographed in 2002 using film and 2012 using digital.
Chukchansi Park opened on May 1, 2002 and is still in use. Known as Grizzlies Stadium 2002 - 2006, Chukchansi Park 2006 - present.

Location - 1800 Tulare St. Fresno, California..... basically in downtown Fresno.

The Fresno Grizzlies started their existence in 1967 as the Tucson Toros. The Toros (AAA team for the Houston Astros) moved to Fresno after the 1997 season and became the AAA Grizzlies for the San Francisco Giants. For the first three seasons the Grizzlies used Pete Beiden field at Fresno State University. Beiden field is a college stadium and not really suited for minor league baseball. In 2002, the Grizzlies came into the modern age with a great new downtown ballpark. Chukchansi Park opened to rave reviews. Situated in southwest downtown part of Fresno, Chukchansi offers great views of the city. Summers can get oppressively hot in Fresno. The Grizzlies have a pool and jacuzzi in centerfield, much like Chase field in Phoenix. The alumni of the Grizzlies is impressive. The parent Giants have had Buster Posey, Tim Lincecum, Brian Wilson, Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner all pass thru Fresno.

In 2015, the Grizzlies became the AAA team for the Houston Astros.
