Photographed in 1991 using film.

American Legion Memorial Stadium opened in 1936 and is still being used. Mostly for high school football, concerts and soccer. The stadium had one brief look at pro football, well sort of. In 1974 the WFL New York Stars relocated to Charlotte and became the Hornets. They played here in 1974 and 1975 before the league folded.

Now, the Charlotte Hounds of the MLL call the stadium home.

In 2009, the east end of the stadium suffered major damage when a storm drain failed and caused part of the stands to collapse. When the stadium reopened, there was a grass berm to replace the seating and it reduced capacity from 24,000 to 17,000.

Location - 310 E. 7th St. Charlotte, North Carolina
