Joe Aillet Stadium opened in 1968 as the home field for Louisiana Tech football. The "Joe" as locals call it, was built on the site of old Tech Stadium. Terry Bradshaw helped open the new facility, before going on to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL hall of fame.

The Bulldogs have used Independence Stadium in nearby Shreveport Louisiana as an alternate home site. Since 1924, the Bulldogs have played over 70 games there.

In 1985, the New Orleans Saints used the Joe as a training camp facility.

The Joe is located at 1450 W. Alabama Ave., Ruston, Louisiana. The stadium is located on the campus of Louisiana Tech University.
