Music - Does Ft. Worth ever cross your mind? by George Strait

Photographed in 1987, 1989, 1994 using film. And photographed in September of 2016 using digital.

Ft. Worth Convention Center Arena opened in 1968 and still being used. There is talk among the city to demolish the aging arena and replace it with more convention space. That would leave Ft. Worth without a major arena / concert venue.

I actually saw a Mavericks / Pacers pregame here in 1989. The Dallas Mavericks played a few pre season games here. Also a part time home for the Texas Chaparrals of the old ABA from 1970 - 1971. The team was based in Dallas but played games here. The Chaparrals eventually became the San Antonio Spurs. Minor league hockey has been played here for over 20 years. The Ft. Worth Fire of the CHL played from 1992 - 1999. Then came the Ft. Worth Brahmas of the WPHL /CHL. They lasted from 1997 - 2006. The Ft. Worth Cavalry of the indoor AFL played one season in 1994. Finally, the Ft. Worth Flyers of the NBA D league played here from 2005-2007.

This was the site of the concert movie by the Rolling Stones, "Ladies and Gentlemen: the Rolling Stones. It was filmed on the Stones 1972 "Tour of America".

Location - 12 Houston St. Ft. Worth, Texas.... in downtown Ft. Worth.
