Music - Sixes and Sevens by Robert Plant
Photographed in 1987 using film and in October of 2016 using digital.
Freedom Hall - Opened in 1956 and still in use. Located on the Kentucky Exposition Center grounds. Freedom Hall is right next to the now abandoned Cardinal Stadium.
Freedom Hall was the longtime home (1956 - 2010) of the U of Louisville mens basketball team. It also was home to the U of Louisville women's team (1975-2010). Previously, the men's team played at the Louisville Gardens in downtown Louisville. The Gardens still stand, but pretty much shuttered. In 2010, both mens and women's teams moved to the new Yum Center in downtown Louisville.
Freedom Hall was the primary home for the old Kentucky Colonels of the old ABA. It also played host to the Louisville Rebels of the IHL from 1957-1960. There were a few other minor league hockey and indoor football teams that played here.
All in all, Freedom Hall is in great shape for a building that is 60 years old. Even though the U of Louisville has moved out, it still hosts rodeos, horse shows, concerts, conventions and even High School basketball.
Location - 937 Phillips Lane Louisville, Kentucky.
